* Make sure your contractor has Liability Insurance, if not, it falls under your home owners insurance.
*Your contractor is WCB covered. If he/she hurts themself, again, this may become your problem!
*Make sure she/he is certified in their respected trade. An apprentice should always be under the watchful eye of a Journeyman. We are called so for a reason!
*Ask to see their business license and or Journeyman tickets, if they have neither, they cannot pull permits!
*Lastly and most important, make SURE they pull the proper permits BEFORE doing the work. Inspectors will look at their work to insure it was done right and to code!
